This morning begins on the Nile’s western shore, where you’ll walk through the quiet corridors of royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Step inside the burial chamber of Tutankhamun (entry included). Continue to the terraced structure of Hatshepsut’s mortuary temple—designed to impress both gods and rivals. Before returning to the ship, stop beneath the towering statues of Amenhotep III, standing watch since the 14th century BC. Sail onward toward Edfu in the afternoon.

Dock in Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus—one of the most intact ancient temples in Egypt. Learn how religious rituals, processions, and myth were carved into its sandstone walls. After lunch onboard, continue to Kom Ombo. This riverside temple, built for both Sobek and Haroeris, holds unique carvings and a collection of crocodile mummies. Tonight, take part in a festive Egyptian-themed evening with music and traditional dress.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Arrive in Aswan, where your morning includes a visit to the Aswan High Dam—an iconic 20th-century project that changed Egypt’s agricultural landscape. From there, ride a motorboat to Agilika Island to view the temple of Isis at Philae, relocated stone by stone to avoid submersion. In the afternoon, board a felucca—Egypt’s traditional sailboat—for a gentle cruise around the botanical islands.
